Abbiamo incontrato Moni Ovadia due giorni fa nella sua casa di Milano. Con i volontari dell’ANPAS (quanto sono bravi…) Shoot4Change è impegnata nella realizzazione di un video documentario – che presenteremo tra pochi giorni – su l’Aquila e sulle storie dimenticate.

E proprio Moni Ovadia si è gentilmente detto disponibile (anzi, entusiasticamente!) a partecipare al video con una sua testimonianza.

Al termine, ha voluto inviare un messaggio ai volontari di Shoot4Change ed Anpas (ma vale ovviamente per tutti i volontari in ogni campo). Parla di volontariato e di quanto sia importante raccontare storie.

Quello che facciamo, tutti e a tutti i livelli, è importante. Sì, è importante e dobbiamo esserne orgogliosi. Perchè, come dice Moni Ovadia, raccontare storie significa consegnarsi al futuro.

Raccontare storie è il senso stesso del cammino dell’uomo.

Noi continuiamo a farlo. Ogni giorno

This is a salute to you volunteers

Volunteering is the heart of the dignity of this country, because the public institutions there are non-existent so nothing will browse without them and it will be only navigation in a sea of mud. So thank you for what you do, do it for all us.

Telling stories is the more important meaning of human progress. A Hasid said, the Jewish mysticism of East Central Europe, says God created man because he loved to hear stories told from them. So we must be able to tell stories if we want to deserve the place for us on this planet.

The better stories told by men are the stories than the subject is the man himself. Storytelling means to enter into themselves, Storytelling mean surrendering the future, to tell is to bring the past into the present and the present into the future. We can not indemnify the past, but it is possible describing it because it does not fall into oblivion.

So when we think of those who were martyred, who have suffered, the story can bring them to the resurrection, of course not the resurrection of the dead in religious terms, that is not the prerogative of men, but the resurrection of their significance yes.

We must tell stories about past for not forget our identity, for make a new life the martyrs, for make what is right in a light: the light of resurrection
