Beirut, il giorno della Collera

Tanto tuonò che piovve. Il ‘giorno della collera’ , annunciato, decretato ed organizzato ieri, in Libano,  dalla coalizione di maggioranza in Parlamento in sostegno del premier uscente Saad Haririsi, è svolto tra   manifestazioni di protesta in varie zone del Paese, scontri, assalti a troupe televisive.

L’obiettivo della manifestazione e’ denunciare la possibilita’ che il deputato Najib Miqati, indicato dall’opposizione guidata dal movimento Hezbollah, ottenga l’incarico di formare il nuovo governo.

Manifestanti sono scesi in strada a Tripoli, Qalamoun, Beirut e Sidone.

Baha’ Souki (S4C Beirut) ha avuto modo di scattare qualche foto durante il suo lavoro di cameraman tv. Lo abbiamo sentito poco fa e ci ha riferito che la situazione pare essere più calma oggi ma, come al solito a Beirut, gli sviluppi sono sempre imprevedibili.

Terremo d’occhio la situazione.

The Day of the Anger (news from S4C Beirut) – Tuesday 25th January 2011

The ‘day of anger’, announced, decreed and organized yesterday in Lebanon by the coalition’s majority in Parliament in support of outgoing Prime Minister Saad Haririi, was held in various parts of the country with protests, rallies, fights, assaults on tv crews.

The aim of the event was to  denounce the possibility’ that the MP  Najib Miqati, indicated by the opposition movement led by Hezbollah, gets the task of forming the new Government.

Protesters took to the streets in Tripoli, Qalamoun, Beirut and Sidon.

Baha ‘Souki (S4C Beirut) has managed to take some pictures during his work as a TV cameraman. We have just heard him and he told us that the situation seems to be calmer today, but as usual in Beirut, the developments are always unpredictable.

We will keep an eye on things.
