Rinasce l’Albarossa!Team Albarossa rises again in Rome!

8 Ottobre 2011 – Pietralata. Un vecchio e trasandato quartiere romano di periferia. Campo di calcio “XXV Aprile”, un campo storico per il quartiere, costruito, si dice, tutto in una notte dalle maestranze del quartiere.

In questa cornice, nel 1968 nasce la squadra Albarossa . Un nuovo riferimento per quella popolazione di una Roma di periferia, emarginata, povera e senza prospettive. L’Albarossa ha rappresentato per il quartiere un punto di aggregazione, di svago e di socializzazione. Le tribune non sono mai state così piene. Urla festanti di grandi e piccini ad incitare la squadra, giocatori che sognavano un futuro da campione.

Tutto questo fino al 1995, quando la società sportiva Albarossa chiude i battenti. Il campo “XXV Aprile” viene abbandonato a se stesso. Rifiuti e piante selvatiche hanno sostituito la presenza umana, e, come in una morsa, avvinghiano i vecchi spogliatoi, la lavanderia, il ristorante, le tribune.

Dobbiamo aspettare il 2009  per sentire nuovamente il cigolio di un cancello aperto, per la prima volta dopo tanti anni.

Sono i nostri ragazzi della Liberi Nantes. Ne abbiamo parlato parecchio, S4C li segue e continuerà a farlo. Stanno pian piano e con tantissimo sforzi ricostruendo, dalle macerie, un simbolo, un punto di riferimento importante per il quartiere. L’Albarossa è sempre stata come un sussurro nel vento, che ha accompagnato, nelle storie e nei racconti, questa ricostruzione. Ed ora è realtà!

L’Albarossa risorge e Shoot4Change non poteva mancare. L’inaugurazione della nuova squadra ha creato i presupposti per un riavvicinamento reale delle persone a questo campo, assenti da troppo tempo. Commozione davanti una fotografia di tanto tempo fa, in cui il cinquantenne si rivede bambino, si riconosce e sorride.

E urla giovani riempiono il campo e risuonano dopo tanto nelle vie del quartiere.

Non c’è altro da dire! Forza Albarossa!

In this context, Team Albarossa (literally “Red Dawn”) was founded in 1968. A new reference point for the population of this suburb of Rome, marginalized, poor and without certain future.

Team Albarossa was for the neighborhood  a meetin, recreation and socialization point. The stands have never been so full. Joyful cries of children and adults to encourage the team; players who dreamed of a future champion.

All this until 1995, when the Albarossa club closes its doors. The “XXV Aprile” is left to itself. Waste and wild plants have replaced the human presence, and, as in a vise, clutching the old locker rooms, laundry, restaurant, grandstands.

We have to wait until 2009 to hear again the creaking of a gate open for the first time in many years.
You know them already; they are the Liberi Nantes players, the Refugee soccer Team about whom S4C reported a lot in the past and will continue to do so of course.

They are slowly, and with a lot of efforts, rebuilding, from the rubble, a symbol, an important reference point for the neighborhood. The Albarossa has always been like a whisper in the wind, which accompanied, in the stories and tales, this reconstruction. And now it is reality!

The Albarossa rises again and  Shoot4Change could not miss it!

The inauguration of the new Team has created the conditions for a rapprochement with real people, too long absent, in this field. Commotion in front of a photograph of a long time ago, in which the child’s back fifty years, it recognizes and smiles. And the joyful  screams of youngsters fill the field and resonate in the streets of the neighborhood after a long long time.
