About the World March for Peace and Nonviolence
The World March was launched by World Without Wars and Without Violence, an affiliation of the Humanist Movement, and is being carried out with the active participation of thousands of organizations, federations, and educational, religious and cultural institutions from around the world. The March calls for the end of wars and the abolition of nuclear weapons, and aims to create a global consciousness that universally condemns all forms of violence. The World March began on October 2 and will pass through countries on 6 continents before ending in the Andes mountains in Argentina on January 2, 2010.
